On October 7th this year Premier hosted the Enabling Church Conference. A selection of top quality speakers shared their insight for disability through their own experience or that of their families, and offered their Biblical reflections on the subject. The idea was to stimulate a conversation concerning a truly Christian response to disability and disabled people, their inclusion and involvement in every aspect of Church life. Whether you missed the event, or just wanted a reminder of some of the key points, you can listen to all the brilliant talks by following this link. Enabling church resources. You will find a wealth of knowledge and information to help support your ministry in your church and community

During the weekends, families living with disability meet for mutual emotional and social support. There are theme-specific workshops for parents and carers.

Children and adults with special needs also attend as an inclusive programme is provided, supported by trained and CRB checked volunteer carers.

We also organise annual family fun days to places such as Thorpe park, West Midlands Safari Park, Woburn Safari Park and Cotswold Safari Park. We have supported over 100 families living with disabilities and special needs through the provision of family fun days, respite weekends and resources.

We hosted our first Carers weekend in September 2005. The Carers weekend provided much needed respite, physical, emotional and social support for the many carers who care for loved ones with limited access to support for themselves. Workshops included topics such as – Managing and preventing the detrimental effects of stress, Managing your finances: Dealing with debt, Building strong relationships. Also available at the weekend for relaxation are countryside walks, heated swimming pool, gym and spa.
