Supporting People Living With Special Needs and Disabilities ~ Connecting people, Changing lives…

Celebrating fifty with family and friends for ASNA

On the 1st May 2016, Sophia Nicholls, ASNA trustee and Executive secretary hosted her 50th Birthday party at the Oxford Belfry Hotel. It was a birthday with a difference. All 80 guests of family and friends were invited to come dressed for an evening of fun and fundraising. With excellent and beautiful music, the evening began with welcome drinks and photos at the photo booth.

Hosts and Auctioneers Cecelia Anderson Wickham & Nigel Nicholls ably supported by Wendy Baptiste helped raise over £1,400. Further donations saw a total of over £2,000!!

The three course meal which included an interactive dessert bar was interspersed with inspirational songs of encouragement, thanks and remembrance. An impromptu performance of 'Oh What a Beautiful City' by former members of the London Adventist Chorale brought back wonderful memories for the performers and guests. It was a wonderful evening for raising awareness of the experiences of people living with disability as well a raising funds for ASNA. Following the meal and beautiful music, the evening was transformed into an auction room where items, gifts and experiences donated by the guests were auctioned to raise funds for ASNA.

Over £1,400 was raised through generous bids and a further £1,000 from a generous supporter who could not make it to the birthday celebrations. Visit the ASNA facebook page for photos and video of group song. Looking forward to further fundraising events throughout the year. Funds go to support ASNA respite activities and training and awareness resources. We thank God for the experiences of all who attended and for the work of ASNA in the UK.
