Module 5: Inspiring Inclusion

Following the session participants will learn about the essence of the concept of social inclusion and basic strategies for applying an inclusive approach towards the people with special needs.

After the session, participants should be able to:

· Understand the key values of inclusive coexistence

· Participate in the formation of an inclusive culture

· Establish and develop inclusive relationships

· Support the building of an inclusive community

About the speaker

Josef Slowík, Ph.D., is a special education teacher currently working as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Education of the University of West Bohemia in the Czech Republic. His research is focused on education, personal development and the social integration and inclusion of people with special needs. He also works as a counsellor, lecturer and supervisor in education and social services. He is an active Christian. Josef Slowík authored several books such as Special Education (Prague, Grada 2007 & 2016), Communication with People with Special Needs (Prague, Portal 2010) and A Person with Special Needs in a Christian Community (Prague, Advent-Orion 2019). He and his wife have raised two daughters.
